Mr. Ong Pang Aik, Chairman & Managing Director
Mr ONG PANG AIK BBM, the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Lian Beng Group Ltd, was instrumental in having grown the business from its early days as a sub-contractor into that of an A1-graded building construction enterprise, registered with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore. Mr Ong first joined the Group in 1978 upon completing his studies and has since garnered more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. As the Board Chairman, he is responsible for the management, business development and overall strategic direction of the Group. With his clear vision, astute foresight and unwavering stewardship, Mr Ong has steered Lian Beng Group through several construction down cycles, each time emerging stronger while delivering sustained profitability. Mr Ong’s steadfast focus on the continuous enhancement of the Group's technical capabilities has enabled the Group to stamp the Lian Beng mark of distinction on all of its projects, by consistently achieving excellence in building and construction. Apart from his commitment to the Lian Beng Group, Mr Ong participates actively in community work. He serves as a grassroots leader in the Marine Parade GRC – Braddell Heights CCMC and as Chairman of the Aljunied-Hougang 6-Miles Business Sub-committee. Mr Ong is also the Vice Chairman of the Aljunied-Hougang Citizens’ Consultative Committee and a member of the PAP Community Foundation Braddell Heights Executive Committee. In addition, he serves as Vice-Chairman of Xinghua Primary School Advisory Committee and is a patron of the Braddell Heights Constituency Sports Club. In recognition of his contribution to the community, Mr Ong was awarded the Public Service Star Medal (Pingkat Bakti Masyarakat - PBM) in 2001 and subsequently The Public Service Star Medal (Bintang Bakti Masyarakat - BBM) in 2008. The Bintang Bakti Masyarakat (BBM) was instituted in 1963, while the Pingkat Bakti Masyarakat was instituted in 1973, both awarded by the Singapore Government. Honoring Mr Ong’s exceptional entrepreneurial achievements and excellence, and whose ingenuity and remarkable perseverance has created and sustained a successful, growing business venture, Mr Ong was also recently awarded the Ernst & Young Construction Entrepreneur of The Year for 2008.
dr. wan soon bee, independent director
	Dr WAN SOON BEE serves as an Independent Director of the Company. He is also currently the chairman of the Council of Advisors to the Singapore Industrial & Services Employees Union and the Advisor of the Union of Telecoms Employees of Singapore. Dr Wan was a political secretary and a Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s office and a Member of Parliament from 1980 to 2001. He was also the Vice President of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions for the Asian Regional Organisation. Dr Wan holds a Dottore Ingegnere in Electronics Engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy. Dr Wan also has directorships in several public listed companies.
mr. sitoh yih pin, independent director
	Mr SITOH YIH PIN is an Independent Director of the Company. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a partner of a certified public accounting firm, Nexia Tan & Sitoh. Currently, Mr Sitoh is the Advisor to Potong Pasir Grassroots Organisations. Mr Sitoh holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree from the National University of Singapore and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
ms. ong lay huan, executive director
	Ms Ong Lay Huan is an Executive Director of the Company and the Contracts Manager of the Group. She joined the Group in 1991 and has more than15 years of experience in the construction industry. Ms. Ong oversees the budgeting and costing of the Group’s projects, manages the Group’s Contracts Department and is also involved in all tenders submitted by the Group. She holds a Diploma in Quantity Surveying from the Singapore Polytechnic and is currently a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.
ms. ong lay koon, executive director
	Ms Ong Lay Koon is an Executive Director of the Company and the Resource Manager of the Group. She joined the Group in 1992 and is presently involved in overseeing the management of Group-wide human resources. She is also involved in the Group’s accounting functions. She holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Singapore Polytechnic and is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.
